We're suffering an intermittent problem with our internal (IE native notes) mail. Attachments are being corrupted, and the error message "Document has been modified since being signed..." etc appears.

However, this only happens when the mail is routed to another mail server, ie, it doesn't happen when the recipient is on the same server as the sender.

Initially, we suspected our AV software (Sophos), but we've temporarily disabled that and the problem still occurs.

Is this likely to be a hardware issue? And what can we do about it?
